Christmas Hampers

Alexanders & Brentford FC support FoodBox at Christmas

The UK’s premier removals and storage firm, Alexanders, has partnered with Brentford Football Club and Hounslow Community FoodBox to provide Christmas Hampers for some of the most vulnerable residents in the borough.

On Saturday December 17th, on a cold and frosty morning in TW4, a team of volunteers both young and old packed over 160 Hampers at the Alexanders warehouse. The hampers were packed ready to be delivered throughout Hounslow in the run up to Christmas.

Each Christmas hamper, catered to the unique dietary requirements of every recipient, and contained food for either a family or a single resident alongside Christmas presents and festive treats. Children received presents including books, colouring books and other assorted gifts depending on their age.

Director of Alexanders Group, Alex Pope, said ‘We are delighted to support such a worthwhile cause. It is very humbling reading some of the tickets and seeing people struggling with the very basics of living. I’m glad we can do our bit to help in some way’.

Hounslow Community FoodBox Treasurer, Philip Jones, who helped pack the Christmas hampers said;

‘We are really pleased to have super generous support of Alexanders and Brentford FC this year to help us provide Christmas hampers for 500 adults and children across the borough - many more than in previous years. I hope it helps in these difficult times to brighten their Christmases.’

A few weeks prior, Brentford star player Josh Dasilva visited FoodBox to help pack the first of the hampers. Bees Club Ambassador Marcus Gayle said ‘We’re in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis and this Christmas will be super tough for families right across the borough. Give a little help a lot this Christmas’.
