About us

We are a volunteer run registered charity (1170666) which provides emergency food and support and advice to those who are in need and live in the London Borough of Hounslow.

The Hounslow Community FoodBox premises are located at Brickfield Community Centre, Brickfield Close, Brentford TW8 8JN.

Opening Times

Tuesday to Friday 10am to 1pm
Saturday 10am to 12pm

Please note that to access emergency food and support you must have a completed referral voucher provided by a professional registered Referral Partner. You cannot self-refer, you need to talk to a Referral Partner so that they can complete a referral voucher for you. Please call or email if you need advice on how to be referred to the service.

If you are seeking help: to find a Referral Partner who is able to provide you with a referral voucher please contact Oonah Lacey on 07718 263614 or the office during our opening times on 07719 891787.  You must live in the London Borough of Hounslow and be in need of emergency food.

How we work

To operate and manage the service we have a Board of Trustees with overall responsibility for the FoodBox operations and around 25 active volunteers who deliver the front line services.

How to get involved: If you would like to volunteer with us or take part in our ‘making a difference’ days, food collections, gardening, corporate responsibility days, volunteering for young people, or home deliveries please contact Oonah Lacey on 07718 263614

The current trustees can be found on the Register of Charities at www.charitycommssion.gov.uk. Councillor Steve Curran, Leader of the London Borough of Hounslow, is the charity’s Patron.  Oonah Lacey acts as an Independent Project Advisor.

The service receives support through funding, food donations and volunteering from a wide range of local businesses and residents.

Food and other donations

We are grateful for all food donations but the regular food items required include:

Tinned potatoes

  • Tinned meat - casseroles, corned beef, ham
  • Tinned Fish - tuna, salmon, sardines
  • Tinned vegetables - sweet corn, peas, carrots, beans
  • Pasta sauces
  • Tomato sauce
  • Tea
  • Coffee
  • Sugar
  • Cereals
  • Jam/preserves
  • Small cooking oil
  • Tinned soup
  • Baked beans
  • Rice
  • Flour
  • Tinned custard
  • Rice Pudding
  • Tinned fruit
  • Squash
  • Long life milk
  • Baby food & milk

Pet food and non-food items such as toiletries, cleaning products and nappies are also very welcome.

Financial donations

We are grateful for financial donations to help run and expand the service, buy essential office supplies and fund our home delivery service for those who have difficulty coming to the FoodBox at Brickfield, perhaps because they are elderly or have ill health or restricted mobility.
